Collaborative Artwork - Sandy & Terry Lane and Jennifer Pettus
In Field/Ground, both structure and evolving concepts require a substrate allowing light to seep through enhancing the reflective quality. The imagery maintains a level of transparency whether on vellum, paper or fabric. This grants light to penetrate through each image revealing distorted memories within the reflective pools. Graphite drawings are executed on both vellum and tracing paper while oil paints illustrate other imagery. Additionally, various transparent fabrics were used in creating maps. Each map depicts a significant location throughout my life where I either lived or visited. Also mitochondria and RNA models reference internal mappings of the body as landscape.
