The Butterfly Effect reflects a collaborative effort with Sandy Lane, her cousin David Reed and spouse, Terry Lane. It conveys a familial investigation into the genetic relationship between autoimmune and neurobiological disorders. Unbeknownst to them until two years before embarking on this work, David and Lane discovered they were first cousins once removed. Upon an uncanny moment in time where their worlds became smaller and smaller until the family narrative collided through the retelling of their story and led to their meeting.
